What is SYC?
S.Y.C. stands for "Summer Youth Celebration" and it is a week long camp for youths who have completed Gr. 7 to Gr. 12. The week includes interactive small groups, lots of recreation activities, exciting worship, Bible teaching and creative arts!
For this year, we introduced a junior leaders program for people age 20 and under who aspire to learn about leading youths.
SYC happens at the end of the summer season. This year's SYC is scheduled from Sunday, August 30th to Friday, September 4th.
For those traveling on the bus, we will depart from Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church (VCBC) at 1:00pm. Please pack a lunch or prepare some money during our short dinner stay at Merritt. We expect to arrive Gardom at approximately 8:30pm.
For our return trip to Vancouver, we will depart Gardom at 12:00pm. We have a brief snack/bathroom break in Merritt before returning VCBC by 6:30pm, depending on traffic.

SYC 2020 Theme:
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, - Ephesians 1:18-20
We live in a world where we are drown and numb by the various stimulation and words that tells us how to be alive. But how can we pursue the true purpose that God has in us? How can we fully realize how deep and wide Christ's love is for us? We hope that as we are reawaken by the word of God in Ephesians, we can truly recognize the identity God has given us individually and as a community.
"I still remember crying two years ago because I didn't want to go to SYC. Little did I know that week would be amazing and rekindle my relationship with God. Wouldn't trade that for anything, and SYC this year (2017) would easily be the highlight of my summer!"

"Syc provides a safe space where you can open up your spiritual struggles to others and find that you are not alone. It is a place of connection, reflection, and change."
3 time SYC Leader,

"A special closeness develops when you eat together, worship together, play together and study together. We see the ripples of SYC after. During every baptism someone will say that they met God or heard his voice at SYC. These experiences have eternal impact."
